a little background

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I was born in South Africa, in 1968. My family and I came to Melbourne in 1980. I learned several instruments in my youth but then focussed on the piano and singing and eventually began writing songs. When I was 18 I started working as a solo musician playing piano bars, cafes and private parties. Later on I started playing with other outfits and even did a full time year as Benny in the well-known ABBA tribute band BABBA!

I recorded my first full length album Working Man in 2004 and played several shows featuring those songs.

After forming a jazz trio, the Dukes of Debonaire my writing started to incorporate some improvisational flavours and eventually the '“Be Yourself” Album was written in 2007. I did numerous shows featuring those songs in and around Melbourne venues including places like Manchester Lane and the Paris Cat in the city.

I still love to play, write and perform whenever I can and have now developed a new show that you might love if you are holding an event.

ONLINE learning -Fit fingers!!

I have set up a very simple approach for beginners playing the piano. It focusses on getting the fingers moving, hence the name Fit Fingers! It is very light on theory. Instead, it has short sharp lessons that will help you to feel a sense of accomplishment! And, it is FREE.
